When despair for the world grows in me
'the critical mass of enlightenment can be defined as the smallest number of awakened human beings whose collective influence can initiate a significant sift in global consciousness. The process of creating enough enlightened ones to achieve this critical mass can be likened to the transformation of coal to diamonds. The pressure surrounding human unconsciousness created urgency in the potential enlightened ones to awaken from illusion. The total weight of so much unconscious 'carbon' exerts a tremendous pressure, through which a few coal stones reach the crystal clarity of enlightened consciousness which can transform the level of consciousness on the entire planet.'
Of vital importance to creating change is the basic act of paying attention to who we are and how we interact with the world. We need to break free from our numbness and let our sensitivity inform rather than disable us.

excerpt from the Bhagavad Gita
I am the taste of water.
I am the light of the Sun and Moon.
I am the original fragrance of the Earth.
I am the heat in fire.
I am the life of all that lives.
Of lights I am the radiant Sun.
Among the stars I am the Moon.
Of the bodies of water I am the Ocean.
Of immovable things I am the Himalayas.
Of trees I am the Banyan.
Of weapons, I am the thunderbolt.
Among the beasts I am the lion.
Of purifiers I am the wind.
Of fishes I am the shark.
Of flowing rivers I am the Ganges.
Of secret things I am silence.
Know that all opulent, beautiful ,
and glorious creations spring from but a spark of my splendor.
Echos of memories
wild and unique

- William Nobel
Come to me, and I shall dance with you In the temples,
on the beaches, through the crowded streets
Be you man or woman, plant or animal, slave or free
I shall show you the brilliant crystal fires, shining within
I shall show you the beauty deep within your soul
I shall show the path beyond Heaven.
Only dance, and your illusions will blow in the wind
Dance, and make joyous the love around you
Dance, and your veils which hide the Light
Shall swirl in a heap at your feet.
“Someday after mastering the wind, the waves, the tides, and gravity, we shall begin to harness the energies of Love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, humanity will…have discovered Fire.”
– Pierre Teillhard de Chardin
And when I speak of love I’m not speaking of some sentimental and weak response.
I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions
have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life.
Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.
Martin Luther King Jr.

Our task must be to free ourselves...by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it's beauty.

All this this time
The Sun never says to the Earth
"You owe me"
With a love like that
it lights up the whole world
Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out
Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadow and shores and hills.
Open up to the Roof.
Make a new watermark on your excitement
Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
Upon our intimate assembly.
Change rooms in your mind for a day.
All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
While stitching themselves together

In many shamanic societies,
if you came to a shaman if a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions:
When did you stop dancing?
When did you singing?
When did you stop being enchanted by stories?
When did you stop finding
comfort in the sweet territory of silence?
Where we had stopped dancing, singing, being enchanted by stories, or finding comfort in silence is where we have experienced the loss of soul.
Dancing, singing, storytelling, and silence are the four universal healing salved.
In the kingdom of children
Every one of you is this child,
An innocent being
Who jumped out of heaven
And landed in Shambhala.
Fortunate birth is who you are–
Everything is perfect in your world.
Your clothing is the mist of heaven,
Your feet covered by dragon’s breath,
You are the most fortunate beings on earth.
You are the children of dharma.
Nothing can close your open heart.
Other children suffer, caught in perpetual dilemma–
Because Buddha has touched you,
You are fortunate.
Be dharmic now,
Be powerful now,
Be benevolent now–
Not for me, not for others–
But because that is your blood.
When you feel privileged, use it.
When you feel ashamed, pounce.
Consume that hesitation–
It’s only a flicker of your imagination.
You are the blessed people on this earth.
Every atom of your being is Buddha–
What’s left is joy.
You have no excuse;
You can be sad, for sadness is
the most genuine expression.
Expression of goodness is who you are.
Being a child of dharma is dilemma.
Being a child of dharma is freedom.
Consume this hesitation of not knowing.
Only walk forward.
For that is why you are here.

KI KI SO SO ASHE
While nourishing both mind and body
Can you keep them joined in Unity
While focusing your awareness in the present moment
Can you retrain the flexibility of a child
Turning inward to your deep still center
Can you fill it with the purest light
While showing respect and commission for others can you avoid interfering
As conditions of life expand and then contract again
Now this clear eyes openness to the ebb and flow
Can it be maintained without straining
Birthing and nourishing
Creating without grasping
Acting without presuming
Guiding without controlling
This is integrity
The profound virtue
I caught the happy virus last night
When I was out singing beneath the stars
It is remarkably contagious
So kiss me.
I know a cure for sadness:
Let your hands touch something that
Makes your eyes
I bet there are a hundred objects close by
That can do that.
Beauty's gift to us -
Her power is so great she enlivens
The earth, the sky, our
And the day came
When this risk to
reamin tight in a bud
was more painful
than the risk it took to blossom.
- Anais Nin
But what I came, finally to understand is that the life I have now,
the person I have become is something to be valued.
It's not second best.
it's not just a way of keeping busy in place of my real life.
or the future I once held dear.
This is it
And I like it.
I'm no saint.
I still get as crazed and frantic as I ever did, and I still feel sad for what's been lost.
But I also feel joy, and love, and peace.
As hard as the journey was, it has brought me profound understanding of myself and what I have to contribute to the world.

Set down your weapons.
Whatever they may be.
Set down your pain.
Set down your shame.
Place on the earth the very urgency to become your success,
your name, your story, or your ardent fear of it.
Stop the fight.
The fighting for right.
For any conclusion at all...
Unclench the fists of battle.
Release the tension of self-war.
Receive the grace before you.

Watch over me.
Hold your hand before me in protection.
Stand for me, speak in defense of me.
As I will speak for you, speak for me.
As you speak for me, so I will speak for you.
May all be beautiful before me.
may all be beautiful behind me.
May all be beautiful below me.
May all be beautiful above me.
May all be beautiful around me.
I am restored in beauty.
